Protecting Your Baby From Other People's Germs

Protecting Your Baby From Other People's Germs

We have created baby signs to help protect babies from germs.

Here's a list of reasons we create our baby signs

  • Walking in public spaces like malls, we noticed a lot of people would try peer into our babies stroller and get rather close. This would make us a bit nervous and as our baby was our first at the time, we were actually quite surprised that people got that close and thought nothing of it.
  • Our first series of designs were focused on our babies lack of immunity to viruses.
  • We first looked at creating these signs when there was a massive outbreak of measles in the North Island, New Zealand in early Jan 2020. We were a bit on edge during that period as our baby had not had his injections at that stage.
  • We wanted to place a small sign on our baby stroller so when we had to go out in public we could politely warn passer bys that our baby was not immunised yet and could be at a higher risk of attracting measles.
  • This might not be for everyone but sometimes we felt awkward and a bit of anxiety asking friends and whanau, if they have had a second immunisation booster shot which is recommended in NZ. Our sign helped break the ice about seeing whether they had or even knew about the reasons for the booster shot.
  • Pre-covid-19 world were already nervous about social distancing, so in the next 6 weeks we will be releasing our second edition of new designs, promoting safe social distancing from our little ones.
